Safe Traveling With an SUV Pet Barrier

Pet owners love to talk about their pets and care for them as if they were their children and honored family members. They purchase the best foods, varieties of toys and various amenities that keep them comfortable and safe. One particular item that is very important to a pet's safety when traveling is an SUV pet barrier. It can keep the pet from disturbing the driver and will protect him or her from being thrown out the front window in the case of an accident. No one wants their furry friend's safety to be in jeopardy. Four of the top choices for barriers are the Pooch Guard, Kennel Aire Pet Barrier, Pet Net and Back Seat Pet Barrier.

A great choice to keep your pet safe and protected is the mini-van and SUV pet barrier, Pooch Guard. The horizontal bars on the Pooch Guard can be adjusted for the perfect fit. The height can be extended to a maximum of 42 inches and the width will extend up to 65 inches. The rods are threaded which allow them to be tightened to make sure the barrier stays securely in place. Plastic feet are placed on the ends to protect your vehicle's floor and roof. The Pooch Guard is an efficient barrier, very basic and simple in design. It's best used for medium to large dogs as the smaller pets could slip their head through the bars. If you need a larger barrier for more active dogs or a larger vehicle, an extension bar is available.

The Kennel Aire Pet Barrier is a good choice for an SUV pet barrier as well as a cargo net. Different from the bars of the Pooch Guard, the Kennel Aire is made of a 2 inch square steel mesh. This eliminates the problem of any of the smaller breeds being able to slip though the gaps. Red plasitsol covers the top to protect the vehicle's headliner and plastic buffers are on the edges to protect the interior. The Pet Net is the cloth version of the Kennel Aire. It is a soft mesh netting that is attached with fasteners. These fasteners make it a breeze to take it down and put it up when it's time to travel. Since it is a cloth material it's certainly not adequate for the aggressive pet but more for the passive personalities.

The Back Seat Pet Barrier is a very easy SUV pet barrier to use. It keeps your pet safe by making a strong wall between the front and back seats. It comes with an extra partition that attaches to the rear headrest and around the seat belt receptacle. It comes in black and tan and is 23 inches by 26 inches wide. Similar to the other three options the main goal is to keep your pet as safe and happy as possible.
