This is about how long the typical new 4x4 buyer keeps his vehicle. A new 4x4 just has that glowing look about it. Unlike a used one, it's not going to have any dents, dings, scratches or major body damage. There won't be any rusty areas or sections where parts are hanging off and are about to crack and break. The tires and wheels will definitely look shinier.
The metal paint will gleam in the sun and in the rain the water will beautifully bead up from the fresh coat of wax that the factory rubbed on. It will make its owner much prouder to be seen next to it than a used 4x4 will. Very few used ones won't have some unappealing and noticeable damage somewhere inside or outside of the vehicle. A new one will look more expensive and richer because of this wondrous look.
